@paulsviplist It's a serious shame isn't it? It's true the majority of students in public school in the United States are financially illiterate. A student might take one basic economics course, but most do not. I took economics electives in both high school and college -- so I know what "Fiat" money means (side note!). It means that paper currency isn't backed up by anything (the gold standard was abolished by Nixon in 71''). Well, it will be a long time before financial lit. is required

@smalltime0 You are right. It is like when we tell a fat person to stop eating 4 hamburgers per day, or tell a person to stop smoking and they just look at us like we are cracy. But one thing in this video that is rong is that the people are protesting the government when it is the people who controle the currency and the people who gave those bad loans out and sold out the country are the ones that they should be protesting..

@paulsviplist I dont think its people not studying history, I think its largely people disregarding historical trends. When people raised concerns about a large asset bubble forming in housing, which could burst catastrophically, they got jided. People said "oh its because we are in a global economy now" "oh modern technology has streamlined "... But what they forget is similar situations have happened before, and people said the same thing at the time.

@cstlljoey7 LOL. It is all because people do not study economic history. They just do not teach this in high school. And almost everyone thinks that this subject is boring. So now every generation in the world will be forced to repeat this kind of history over and over again..People do not seem to know that it is the people who controle the money of a country are the true people who run and controle that country. |
