oh ya also, basically what I heard is the US government has no aurhority over us until the gov't wants us to do things different. Basically if the congress and president agreed to abolish the fed reserve, they could. Therefore they do indeed have control over the fed if they wish to do so. Many politians could care less the fed being over the law tho, so they are in essense but not actually. It's like cops, some laws are enforced, some aren',t ones they see as a wasted effort is not enforced.

I agree you must control interest rates to uphold the economy and stay afloat but it is your fault, the federal reserve. You've caused the issues, so of course you must control the situation or you'll sink an already sinking boat that you keep afloat by putting a temporary patch or plug over the hole and use a bucket to scoop out the water. How crazy does it sound that the fed reserve was given more power than the US government, how can it be? Doesn't even answer to the fed gov't.

@guekman Us regular, everyday Americans had no say in the matter. We never have, really. The Fed was ushered in silently and in a well-coordinated way that took many, many years to execute.
