if you were an alien reptilian race that relied on human clones for nasty environmental work and you could use as entertainment,ect.Would you want them to evolve?If they did then the souls in the clones would also evolve and revolt.Now if you controlled their world,wouldnt you make them stupider?Especially the leaders.But if you could only control the monkey brain,not the higher "god" brain,it would be catch 22.You could scare people stupid,for a while anyway,eventually you would lose.:+(

Most of Philip K. Dick's books were about the upcoming surveillance society.Philip K Dick was like George Orwell or Aldous Huxley - guys who were let in on the 'scientific dictatorship' and in turn wrote science fiction books about it.
